HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Al-Arabi
The city of Marrakech witnessed a noticeable calm last night, Friday/Saturday, following the focused security interventions that targeted riot hotbeds in the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali district, resulting in the restoration of public order and the drying up of the sources of chaos.
According to local sources, the various neighborhoods experienced normal stability without recording any prominent events, with the exception of minor skirmishes that were recorded during the past few days on Alal Al-Fassi Street and near the Jamaa el-Fna square, which were quickly contained through precise security interventions that resulted in the arrest of those involved, including a number of minors who used Chinese-made motorcycles in acts of vandalism.
These developments come after extensive combing campaigns launched by the security services in the region, supported by the analysis of surveillance camera recordings, which enabled the identification of the identities of those involved and their subsequent referral to justice on serious charges including disobedience, insulting the public forces, and incitement to commit misdemeanors, in addition to referring the minors to the juvenile judge.
Thus, the Red City has regained its calm after days of tension, amidst continued high security vigilance to ensure that these actions do not recur.
