The Mohammed V University of Rabat welcomes the Universities of Al Quds and Gaza: Morocco will manage the gradual return to formal education after the cessation of the aggression on Gaza

The Mohammed V University of Rabat received, on June 24, 2024, a university delegation from Al Quds and Gaza, composed of Imad Abu Kichk president of Al Quds University, Khalil Abu Foul president of the board of directors of the Al Azhar University in Gaza, Omar Milad president of Al Azhar University and Safaa Nasreddine general secretary of presidential affairs at Al Quds University.

In the presence of Achraf Al Awar, Minister of Al Quds Affairs in the Palestinian government, Jamal Shobaki, Palestinian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, and Mohammed Salem, the delegation reviewed aspects of cooperation to manage the gradual return to formal education after the cessation of the aggression on Gaza.

Cherkaoui, director in charge of the Bait Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency, as well as members of the delegation of Palestinian personalities from Al Quds and Gaza, visiting Morocco until June 28, and administrative officials and deans of faculties of the Mohammed V University of Rabat, welcomed the innovative ideas presented by Al Azhar University.

Professor Farid El Bacha, President of the Mohammed V University of Rabat, deplored the paralysis of the education sector in the Gaza Strip, like other sectors of life, since the events of October 7, and welcomed the innovative ideas proposed by Al Azhar University to overcome this ordeal, so that students can return to faculties and classrooms.

Mr. El Bacha underlined the university’s desire to join the efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al Quds Committee, to provide all forms of support and of sympathy to the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian regions which are no less affected.

Mr. El Bacha called for the creation of the annual forum of Palestinian universities as a sustainable framework for cooperation and partnership.

Mr. El Bacha also praised the contribution of Al Quds University to strengthening the role of the promising and educated Palestinian elite to defend the inalienable and legitimate rights of Palestinians by disseminating science and knowledge, which allows generations to view life with ambition and hope for the future.

For its part, the Palestinian delegation welcomed this remarkable donation of solidarity from the Kingdom of Morocco, a symbol of real and tangible solidarity with the Palestinian people, and noted in particular the tireless and continuous work of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, and his clear messages on the rights of Islamic and Christian holy places in Al Quds.
