The Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transformation and Administration Reform, Amal El Falah Sghrouchni, confirmed on Tuesday in Paris that Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, has chosen a digital path that puts women at the heart of innovation.
Sghrouchni said, during her participation in the 16th session of the Economic Meetings of the Arab World Institute, organized under the slogan "Women, Business and Innovation", that "our responsibility lies in removing all financial and technological obstacles so that the radiance of women's leadership extends throughout the entire value chain, from the laboratory to the factory, and from the emerging enterprise to the administration".
In this context, she highlighted the pivotal importance of efforts to empower women, through digital education programs and mentoring networks, to bridge the gaps that hinder their economic participation, especially the limited access to finance and the weakness of digital infrastructure.
In the same context, the Minister called for the development of training paths within the Euro-Arab mobility framework, directed primarily at young women, with the aim of enhancing their employability, especially through supporting artificial intelligence centers and programs dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises.
She added that this ambition was translated into the field this year through structural partnerships, including the memorandum of understanding signed with the company "Mistral AI" specializing in generative artificial intelligence, with the aim of accelerating research and development in this field and enhancing a realistic digital sovereignty based on open standards.
Sghrouchni also touched upon the (We-Elevate) initiative, carried out in partnership with the Digital Cooperation Organization, which aims to open new horizons for skills and employment for young women, through capacity-building programs in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and e-commerce. She also pointed to the launch of the "Morocco Digital Hub for Sustainable Development" in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme and a number of key players in the digital sector.
In the same context, the Minister called for strengthening cooperation between Arab and European countries to empower women and promote the digital economy in the countries of the South.
She explained that "joint efforts in the exchange of knowledge, capacity building and investment are capable of creating inclusive systems in which women's enterprises thrive as a driver of innovation and sustainable growth."
The 16th session of the Economic Meetings of the Arab World Institute includes round tables on "Artificial Intelligence and Innovation: French-Arab Strategies and Integrations", "Global Challenges: What French-Arab Cooperation for Action?", "Innovation in Cultural and Creative Industries: French-Arab Integrations", and "Supporting Artistic Creativity in the Arab World".
Since its launch in 2014, these meetings, according to the Institute, are a prominent appointment for the French-Arab economic dialogue, as they bring together high-level decision-makers, businessmen, researchers, and figures from different backgrounds to jointly think about the strategic stakes that shape the future of the two regions.
