HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
In a new incident that brings to the forefront the danger of the spread of stray dogs in the city of Al Hoceima, a citizen survived an attack by a group of dogs on Tuesday evening on Mohamed Zerktouni Street leading to the port. The dogs surprised the victim, who was in his fifties, and bit his leg, causing him injuries of varying severity.
The injured person was quickly transferred to the regional hospital to receive the necessary treatment, where his wounds were repaired and he was vaccinated against rabies. This incident sparked a state of fear and dissatisfaction among the residents, who repeatedly demanded that the local authorities intervene urgently to curb the phenomenon of stray dogs, without those appeals receiving any actual response. Citizens accuse the municipal council of the city of failing to perform its duty in managing this file, considering that ignoring this phenomenon has begun to threaten their safety and lives on a daily basis. They also warned that the continued uncontrolled spread of stray dogs could cause greater tragedies in the future if field and effective measures are not taken. The victims called on the concerned authorities to take immediate action and assume their responsibilities in protecting citizens, stressing that the official silence is no longer acceptable in the face of the increasing attacks that threaten the health security of the city.
