"I fell into a hole myself, if not for providence, and the company must take responsibility," exclaimed the head of the Satat Municipal Council, "Nadia Fadmi," angrily at the regional multi-service company due to the absence of its director from the October session, holding the concerned company responsible for the spread of potholes in the streets, which it had not adhered to the terms of the specifications, as she described.
The head of the municipal council added, saying: "We, like the citizens, suffer from potholes, and the director must attend the session to answer, and this is not reasonable. Now we will postpone the session until she comes…. We gave the residents promises that the potholes would not remain… but the company did not comply."
In another context, the council discussed the problem of proximity markets with a comprehensive evaluation of the previous experience in light of the spread of street vendors and the constraints that the phenomenon created, which negatively reflected on improving the urban landscape.
The city's Pasha, during his intervention, said that the experience of the previous model markets did not rise to the level of the residents' approval and aspirations, but it did not achieve the goals for which it came because of its unsuitable engineering design, which directly contributed to making them empty spaces without meaning.
The city's Pasha stressed that choosing strategic locations for the establishment of model markets is necessary, undertaking to find solutions that preserve the dignity of street vendors in accordance with a perspective that takes into account spatial justice and bringing services closer to shoppers, in complete coordination with the municipal council.
