Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, affirmed on Thursday in Brussels that the Moroccan community in Belgium constitutes a fundamental and vital element in the bilateral partnership between the two countries.
Bourita highlighted, during a joint press conference with the Deputy Prime Minister and Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxim Prévot, that Moroccans residing in Belgium hold a central position in strengthening human, economic, and cultural ties between Rabat and Brussels. The minister affirmed that "the Moroccan community in Belgium is a shared heritage that we must all preserve from any external exploitation," pointing to their significant contribution to Belgian society in various fields. In this context, the minister praised the remarkable and exemplary contribution of Moroccans residing in Belgium to the economic, social, and cultural dynamism experienced by the country. A number of Moroccans residing in Belgium excel in the fields of entrepreneurship, scientific research, arts, and sports, while maintaining a strong attachment to their roots and to the homeland. This community embodies the success of integration within the framework of diversity and forms a distinguished bridge for communication between the Moroccan and Belgian societies, at a time when the two countries are working to build a leading model of cooperation in the field of migration, based on shared responsibility, solidarity, and mutual respect.
