In the presence of the former Spanish Prime Minister… Azoulay and Bensaid inaugurate the Gnaoua Festival in Essaouira

Yesterday evening, the city of Essaouira saw the launch of the 25th edition of the Gnaoua and World Music Festival, with a traditional parade mixed with Gnaoua heritage crossing the main streets and squares of the city.

The opening ceremony was marked by the presence of several important personalities, including Andrés Azoulay, advisor to the king, Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, as well as Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, former Spanish Prime Minister.

During the opening ceremony of the Essaouira Gnaoua Festival, which runs until the 29th of this month, the diverse traditional parade passed through the picturesque lanes of the medina, presenting spectacular performances for festival-goers from around the world, celebrating thus the big start of this prestigious music festival.

The 25th edition of the Gnaoua and World Music Festival, lighting up the sky of the city of Trade Winds, welcomes 400 artists and offers 53 concerts in total, in a leading musical program, offering the public a wide range of music and musical rhythms High quality.
