The National Observatory for Strategic Studies issued, on Friday, October 24, a strongly worded statement in which it condemned the escalation message sent by the representative of the so-called "Polisario Front" to the President of the Security Council, under the direct guidance of the Algerian military regime, through which the separatist front announced its rejection of any UN draft resolution on the Moroccan Sahara.
A blatant violation of international legitimacy. The observatory indicated that this behavior is a dangerous provocation to international law and a blatant violation of international legitimacy, stressing that any position that rejects the UN path constitutes a rebellion against Security Council resolutions and threatens regional and international security and stability. The statement affirmed that the next stage after the Security Council vote will be decisive, noting that the Polisario's rejection of the UN path represents a hostile act of a terrorist nature that warrants its inclusion among armed terrorist movements under international law. It also called for the restoration of full sovereignty over the buffer zone by legal means, noting that this region has become a haven for smuggling and the transfer of weapons and the movement of militias, in a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement. The observatory stressed that the so-called "Polisario Front" is a group of militias belonging to the Algerian regime, and does not represent the real Sahrawis who are an integral part of the Moroccan people and actively participate in development and local administration in their southern provinces.
Imaginary entities. The statement added that Morocco, with increasing support from the international community, will not accept the continued existence of imaginary entities within its territories, and will not allow its eastern regions to be a haven for armed militias that practice terrorism and organized crime with Algerian support. The observatory also demanded that the international community assume its responsibilities by criminalizing the Polisario and holding its leaders accountable for human rights violations and international humanitarian law, especially in the Tindouf camps, which have turned into centers for recruiting mercenaries, children, and trafficking in human beings and weapons. The statement concluded by emphasizing that the time of appeasement is over, and that the next stage will witness the affirmation of Moroccan sovereignty over all its territories and the inclusion of the Polisario on international terrorism lists, which enhances security and stability in the Sahara and the Sahel and gives international legitimacy its right.
