This visit aims to closely assess the progress of work on this vital project, which is one of the most important strategic projects included in the infrastructure rehabilitation program in preparation for the major continental event, which will be a prominent milestone in the path of comprehensive development that the Souss-Massa region is witnessing. The project extends over a length of 4.8 kilometers, with a total financial allocation of approximately 50 million dirhams. Work began last May and is expected to be completed by the end of next November, ensuring the readiness of this vital axis before the start of the African competitions. The ongoing works include the rehabilitation of the road, roundabouts, parking spaces for cars and buses, and public squares, in addition to strengthening the basic infrastructure of sanitation networks, drinking water, electricity, and irrigation, as well as installing a public lighting system, preparing sidewalks and pedestrian walkways, and launching afforestation and vegetation operations, within the framework of an integrated approach that combines functional efficiency and urban aesthetics. The Governor was accompanied during this visit by the technical staff of the governorate, the General Manager of the Al Omrane Souss Massa company as the delegated project owner, along with the engineering team, the study office, and representatives of the construction companies and local authorities. During the visit, the Governor emphasized the importance of adhering to the completion deadlines and ensuring the quality of the work, pointing out that this project represents a fundamental building block in improving the quality of life and enhancing the attractiveness of the Orir-Taghazout tourist area, in line with the major development vision for Greater Agadir. This project comes within the context of the development dynamic that the Souss-Massa region is witnessing in preparation for hosting the 2025 African Cup of Nations, and embodies a strong will to rehabilitate infrastructure and prepare the territorial space in a way that reflects a modern civilized image of the city of Agadir and its surroundings.
