In a tragic incident that shook the Moroccan community in Spain, the Moroccan woman Zahra (47 years old) was found dead inside her humble residence in a slum area between the cities of Moguer and Palos de la Frontera, known for the strawberry farms that employ hundreds of seasonal workers.
According to the Spanish Civil Guard, a 56-year-old African man from Burkina Faso has been arrested on suspicion of committing the murder, after the victim was found with several stab wounds from a sharp weapon. The case began when the victim's colleagues noticed her absence from work in one of the strawberry farms on the morning of the incident, so they decided to go to her place of residence, and there was the tragedy; Zahra was a lifeless body with signs of severe violence.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the relationship between the victim and the accused was a tense emotional relationship, as he had previously threatened her with death after she told him of her desire to marry another man. Her daughter also reported that she had previously informed the authorities about the threat, but no formal complaint was filed, and the accused had no previous record in cases of violence against women within the Spanish system. This tragic incident left a shock and overwhelming anger among members of the Moroccan community in Andalusia, who expressed their solidarity with the victim's family and demanded justice and the imposition of the maximum penalties on the perpetrator.
