A tweet by the Algerian writer and journalist residing in Paris, Karim Nait Ouslimane, sparked widespread controversy on the "X" platform, after he described Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune as "the worst president Algeria has known since Prophet Noah," in a satirical reference to the extent of failures the country has witnessed since he took office.
He pointed out in his post to a series of successive failures that Algeria is experiencing, from BRICS and the scarcity of cars to the collapse of the dinar, the lack of visas, neighborhood gangs and the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, stressing that things are worse than they seem. The tweet reflects the state of frustration felt by many Algerians due to the deterioration of economic and social conditions, and the weakening of the country's image at the regional and international levels.
Worst president Algeria has known since Prophet Noah. Setback after setback: BRICS, car scarcity, dinar collapse, lack of visas, neighborhood gangs, and today the Western Sahara, and what is hidden is greater… pic.twitter.com/m7I94SXWV2 — Karim Nait Ouslimane (@KarimNaitOuslim) October 31, 2025
