Today, Tuesday, wide-ranging consultations began regarding the design and preparation phase of the new generation of integrated territorial development programs, which include all 75 provinces of the Kingdom. This is within the framework of activating the high directives of King Mohammed VI, aimed at establishing an integrated local development model that places the citizen at the heart of public policies.
The first day of these meetings witnessed the launch of consultative meetings in a number of prefectures, namely: Safi, Tinghir, Meknes, Assa-Zag, Larache, Tata, Sidi Bennour, Beni Mellal, and Sale. The consultations will continue on Wednesday in Nador, Youssoufia, Sefrou, M'diq-Fnideq, Sidi Ifni, Agadir, Settat, and Rabat. This phase aims to lay the foundations for new development programs based on accurate territorial diagnosis and listening to various local actors, including residents, elected officials, administrations, and civil society, in order to develop integrated projects that respond to the priorities of each region. The Wali, General Director of Local Authorities at the Ministry of Interior, Jaloul Samsam, explained in a previous statement that this phase will enable the preparation of accurate concepts for development programs, noting that the expanded consultations will continue in the coming weeks to include various regions. Samsam added that this "special and innovative" approach embodies the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aimed at continuing the path of progress by placing the citizen at the heart of the development process, highlighting that the rapid implementation phase of this new generation of integrated territorial development programs will begin at the beginning of 2026.
