A young Moroccan man named Noureddine Fortli, 31 years old and residing in Italy, displayed an exemplary model of courage and humanitarian responsibility after rescuing 50 students from a fire that broke out on their bus in the town of Oderzo, northern Italy.
According to data reported by Italian media, the fire broke out following a direct collision between the bus and a car driven by an 85-year-old elderly man, who died in the accident. Thanks to the quick wit of the Moroccan youth Noureddine and his immediate intervention, he was able, along with an Italian citizen, to use a fire extinguisher to control the flames and rescue the students trapped inside the bus. In his statements after the accident, Fortli said with remarkable humility: "I am not a hero, I just did what I had to do," adding that those moments will remain etched in his memory for life. This heroic act has received widespread praise in Italian and Moroccan circles, with confirmations that local authorities are preparing to officially honor him in appreciation of his courage and humanity, which embodied the highest values of solidarity and responsibility.
