The Royal Cabinet announced that October 31st of each year will be a national holiday under the name "Unity Day."
The following is a statement from the Royal Cabinet: "Considering the historical transformation that our national cause has witnessed, and recalling the decisive developments brought about by Security Council Resolution 2797/2025, which were the subject of the recent Royal speech of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, to his loyal people, it has been decided to make October 31st of each year a national holiday, and an occasion on which His Majesty will graciously issue his Royal pardon." His Majesty the King, may God protect him, has named this national occasion "Unity Day," with all its connotations and references to the firm national and territorial unity of the Kingdom. This holiday will be a national occasion to express adherence to the national sanctities of the Kingdom and its legitimate rights. It has also been decided that the Royal speech will be delivered in the future on two official occasions: the first through the speech of the glorious Throne Day and the second on the occasion of the opening of the first session of the legislative year. Furthermore, His Majesty the King, in his capacity as Commander of the Faithful and Head of State, retains his Royal decision and high appreciation to address his loyal people, at any time and on any occasion he deems appropriate, may God protect him. The celebrations scheduled to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the glorious Green March will be maintained, without a Royal speech to the nation on this occasion."
