HIBAPRESS – Rabat
In application of the provisions of paragraph three of Article 100 of the Constitution, and the provisions of the Internal Regulations, the House of Representatives held a plenary session devoted to monthly oral questions addressed to the Head of Government regarding general policy.
During this session, Abdelhay Hartoun, the parliamentary deputy for the southern provinces of the Kingdom, representing the National Rally of Independents party, confirmed that Hassan II once said that he would make the Sahara a green paradise, and here is King Mohammed VI fulfilling his father's promise and turning this dream into a tangible reality, pointing out that the major development projects witnessed by the southern provinces reflect this continuous royal commitment. Hartoun explained that the transformations the region is witnessing in the fields of infrastructure, agriculture, industry, and tourism make the Sahara a model for integrated development, stressing that governmental and developmental efforts are proceeding at an accelerated pace to achieve spatial balance and social justice in these provinces. The deputy added that the structural projects, from hospitals, ports, and renewable energy projects, confirm that the Moroccan Sahara has become an important economic and social hub, which enhances confidence in the region's capabilities and opens up broad prospects for investment and sustainable development.
