HIBAPRESS – Barcelona: Omar Razzini
Spanish security authorities in the city of Palma arrested two young Moroccans in two related cases, one related to carrying a bladed weapon and making death threats, and the second related to arson in a shantytown.
The details of the incident go back to a dispute between one of the detainees, a young Moroccan, and two people of South American origin. The dispute between the parties escalated as the Moroccan carried a large knife and chased the two people in a state of agitation, which caused panic among the residents. In an attempt to contain the situation, the Moroccan's friend intervened to calm the dispute, and he was able to disarm him and end the confrontation without any injuries. However, the two people later reported the police, who rushed to the scene and arrested the young Moroccan on charges of making death threats and possessing a bladed weapon. But the incident did not stop there, as the friend who had intervened to resolve the dispute felt insulted by the actions of the complainants, so he returned in the late hours of the night and deliberately set fire to their residence while they were sleeping, which caused serious material damage and almost led to a humanitarian disaster had it not been for the intervention of the fire department in a timely manner. The security authorities opened a comprehensive investigation into the case, and referred the detainees to justice to follow up on the charges against them.
