HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Fouzi Lekjaa, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, directly challenged the Justice and Development parliamentary group, following statements by one of its parliamentarians who accused the government of including "tailored legislation" within the draft finance law.
During a session discussing the project in the House of Representatives, Lekjaa said, addressing the "PJD" group: "…I reiterate the commitment I made on behalf of the government before the Finance Committee: whoever finds legislation tailored in the draft finance law, let them present it, and I am ready to withdraw it immediately and apologize to the parliamentarians and all Moroccans."
The minister stressed that the government deals with all legal provisions with utmost transparency and clarity, adding in a firm tone: "If we are legislating to order as you say, why are we voting then?"
Lekjaa concluded his response with an open challenge to the "PJD", saying: "…Here is the platform in front of you, come on, show us this tailored legislation."
