HIBAPRESS – Rabat
This time, the Algerian authorities did not find an "external enemy" to blame for their failure to protect their forests from fires, so they decided to resort to a strange option; accusing three mentally disturbed brothers of being involved in igniting the fires.
Algerian Interior Minister, Said Sayoud, came out to announce, with confidence, that investigations by the National Gendarmerie had proven the involvement of these three, without leaving any room for the judiciary to do what is supposed to be its role in countries that respect themselves.
The Interior Minister explicitly announced that the involvement of the mentally ill in igniting the fires was "proven", in a new incident that reveals the nature of the ruling military regime in Algeria.
The announcement came to add a new episode to a long series of ridiculous methods adopted by the Algerian authorities with every wave of fires that sweeps the country's forests.
