Algerian journalist Khadija Ben Ganna expressed her strong dismay at her country's vote in favor of the American project concerning Gaza in the Security Council, considering this position, in her words, a "shame and assassination of the Palestinian cause."
In a post she published on her social media accounts, Ben Ganna said that she is still trying to "recover from the shock of the Arab voice in the Security Council going in favor of Trump," adding that abstaining from the vote would have – at the very least – saved face and avoided, as she put it, "the shame of historical responsibility" in one of the worst decisions concerning Palestine within the United Nations.
The journalist added that history "will hold everyone accountable for the crime of assassinating the Palestinian cause," pointing out that what happened in Sharm el-Sheikh and what subsequently occurred in the Security Council represent, in her opinion, pivotal moments in this path.
