HIBAPRESS – Misbah Ahmed
Last night, Sunday, November 23rd, the motorcycle convoy at the Bouskoura toll station managed to stop and seize a quantity of hashish, estimated at 5 tons, inside a truck with a cement tanker, also known as "botniar".
According to the events, a routine patrol at the Bouskoura toll station managed to stop a truck on the road leading to Safi to subject it to a control operation. After the patrol leader noticed the truck driver's confusion, he asked him to search it, but the latter tried to escape in the blink of an eye. This prompted one of the gendarmes to use his service weapon; he fired 4 shots at the truck's wheels, which were sufficient at a distance of two kilometers from the control center. The driver and his companion fled to an unknown destination, taking advantage of the darkness. As a result of searching the vehicle, 5 tons of hashish were found inside the cement tanker, in the form of bundles prepared for international smuggling.
The scene of the incident witnessed the presence of the commander of the Bouskoura company and the regional commander of Casablanca. The investigation and inquiry were assigned to the elements of the judicial center in Bouskoura, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
This operation comes within the framework of the efforts and vigilance of the gendarmerie elements in the motorcycle convoy in Bouskoura, under the supervision of their head, to reduce the activity of smugglers via the Casablanca-Safi highway.
