CAN Morocco 2025 qualifiers: Egypt in the tough, Morocco to show its strength before the main tournament

A difficult draw for Egypt, seven-time African champion, Ivory Coast and Morocco, host country, also discovered the opponents of the qualifiers for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025.

The Pharaohs will face two in-form teams, Cape Verde and Mauritania – two nations who had an excellent run at the previous TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire 2023. Botswana are the fourth team in Group C.

Reigning African champions Ivory Coast have been placed in Group G alongside Zambia, Sierra Leone and Chad.

Placed in Group B, hosts Morocco will face Gabon, Central African Republic and Lesotho. The Atlas Lions, assured of a place in the final draw as hosts, will enter the qualifiers with home advantage, looking to show their strength ahead of the main tournament.

The playoffs will begin in September 2024 and end in November 2024.

The teams ranked first and second in each of the eleven groups, except Group B where Morocco is participating, will secure their place in the tournament.

The highly anticipated TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations will take place from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026 in Morocco
