HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Renaissance Berkane achieved an exciting victory over their host, Rivers United of Nigeria, after overturning their deficit in the killing time of the match that brought the two teams together today, Friday, within the competitions of the second round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
Renaissance Berkane went out behind from the first half of the match, in which they tried to impose their style to no avail, in front of the tenacity of the home team's defense, and the danger of their attacks, which resulted in an own goal from Mamadou Lamine Camara, in the 37th minute. Despite their intensive attempts to score the equalizer, Renaissance Berkane did not succeed in shaking the net until after entering the added time instead of the lost time, where Younes El Kaabi scored the first goal in the 97th minute, and Munir Chouiaar scored the second goal in the 99th minute. With this victory, Renaissance Berkane topped the first group standings with 6 points, ahead of Pyramids, who came in second place with 3 points, then Rivers United in third place with zero points, while Power Dynamos are at the bottom of the ranking with no points.
