The Provincial Judicial Police in Tetouan opened an investigation this Tuesday, December 2nd, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor's Office to determine the circumstances surrounding the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle 12 kilograms of cocaine at the Bab Sebta border crossing.
The operation came as a result of joint border surveillance between the National Security and Customs, where a foreign-registered car driven by a Moroccan citizen was seized, inside which the large shipment of cocaine destined for smuggling into Moroccan territory was found. The suspect, who is 30 years old, was subjected to a judicial investigation to uncover all possible extensions of this case, and to monitor its connections with international drug smuggling networks, as well as to arrest all those involved in this criminal activity.
