HIBAPRESS – Marrakech
The anti-gang unit of the Marrakech security directorate, on Sunday, October 25th, managed to arrest three individuals, including a 15-year-old minor, one of whom has a prior criminal record, on suspicion of involvement in a case related to theft under threat with a bladed weapon, arson, and attempted murder.
The police services had opened a judicial investigation following a complaint filed by a victim last Wednesday, accusing two individuals of luring him using an unlicensed ride-hailing application, before they threatened him with a bladed weapon, seized his personal belongings, and his motorcycle.
Technical investigations and field inquiries led to the identification and arrest of the two main suspects, as well as the identification and arrest of a minor suspected of participating in this criminal activity.
Continuous investigations and inquiries in this case revealed that the individuals are also suspected of involvement in another case, during which they lured a taxi driver to the rural area of "Saada" on the outskirts of Marrakech, before robbing him, holding him in the trunk, and attempting to kill him by setting his vehicle on fire.
The three suspects have been subjected to judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, to uncover all circumstances and details of this case, as well as to identify all criminal acts attributed to the individuals concerned.
