The first session of the multidisciplinary international conference on health sciences kicked off on Wednesday at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Oujda, under the slogan "Health and the Future: A Forum for Expertise and Innovation".

This conference, organized over two days by the International Multidisciplinary Center for Health Sciences (Oujda), in cooperation with the Higher Institute of Nursing Professions and Health Technologies in Oujda, and the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, falls within the framework of a dynamic of scientific thinking, innovation, and dialogue. The speakers at the official opening ceremony confirmed that this scientific event, which hosts, in addition to Moroccan researchers from different cities of the Kingdom, experts and researchers from other countries (France, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire…), constitutes a real space for exchange between the North and the South, and a laboratory of ideas on the international level. They pointed out that the choice of the topic of this meeting reflects a collective will to overcome sectoral approaches in order to build an integrated vision of health, which lies at the intersection of medical sciences, nursing sciences, management, law, economics, engineering, social sciences, and modern technologies. In this regard, the president of the conference, Rayan Bouazzaoui, said, "Today, we live in a world that is witnessing rapid health transformations, characterized by the increasing aging of the population, the exacerbation of chronic diseases, and the frequency of global health crises, as well as the amazing development of the digital field and artificial intelligence." Bouazzaoui noted, in a speech on behalf of the organizing committee, that these profound transformations that are bringing about radical and sustainable changes in treatment systems, not only at the clinical level but also in their organizational, economic, managerial, structural, and ethical dimensions, require a review of traditional models of care, governance patterns, and the foundations of health work, which makes multi-dimensional and prospective strategic thinking indispensable. In this context, he pointed out that Morocco is distinguished by a far-sighted reform vision, led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which has made the reform of the health system a real royal workshop, adding that since 2022, the Kingdom has engaged in one of the deepest transformations in its health system, through the generalization of comprehensive health coverage, the establishment of territorial health groups, the strengthening of hospital governance, as well as the acceleration of the digitization of health services. He highlighted that this strategic workshop embodies a strong will to build a health system that is more efficient, equitable, comprehensive, and flexible, and capable of responding to the requirements of the present and the challenges of the future, considering that this ambitious reform requires precise scientific accompaniment, prudent management of change, constant international vigilance, and collective mobilization of knowledge and competencies to ensure its success, sustainability, and real impact on the health of citizens. Bouazzaoui continued, saying, "The multidisciplinary international conference on health sciences is positioned as a leading scientific platform where experiences, experiments, and visionary visions meet in order to rethink, according to a participatory and multidisciplinary approach, the future of health systems in Morocco, Africa, and internationally." The conference’s work, which is divided into four integrated axes, addresses the major transformations of the sector through the transition of treatment systems, the prosperity of connected health, the legal, social, and economic stakes of health, as well as the development of digital health and advanced medical innovations. Through this integrated dynamic, the conference aims to contribute to the emergence of a healthier, more humane, equitable, and efficient model, firmly engaged in the requirements of the future.
