The Netherlands praised, on Friday, the reforms initiated by Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, as well as the King's regional initiatives.
In the joint declaration adopted after discussions held in The Hague between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Dutch counterpart, David Van Weel, the Netherlands commended the progress made by Morocco, particularly the ambitious reforms being implemented under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. It also highlighted the efforts made by the Kingdom in the areas of political, economic, and social development, especially through the new development model, the reform of the Family Code, as well as advanced regionalization. The Low Countries also expressed great interest in the Atlantic initiatives launched by King Mohammed VI for the benefit of the African continent, including the initiative of the series of Atlantic African countries, the King's initiative aimed at enabling the Sahel countries to access the Atlantic Ocean, in addition to the Atlantic-African gas pipeline project. The joint declaration affirmed that these initiatives aim to make the Atlantic African space a geostrategic framework supporting development within the continent, and for stability and prosperity in Africa. The Netherlands also praised the constructive role played by Morocco in the Middle East, noting the personal commitment of King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
