HIBAPRESS – Rabat
"Femmes du Maroc" magazine praised the inscription of the Moroccan caftan on the representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, considering that this international recognition embodies the high status that this garment occupies within the Moroccan identity and the aesthetic and cultural symbols it carries, passed down through generations throughout history.
According to the magazine, this global classification reflects the vitality of the Moroccan caftan, thanks to the extensive efforts of artisans, teachers, creators, and tradition protectors, who have contributed to its preservation, development, and the enhancement of its presence inside and outside Morocco, to become today a symbol of elegance and a reference that inspires major fashion designers in the world, many of whom have dedicated entire collections inspired by its aesthetics and original techniques. Since 1996, "Femmes du Maroc" magazine has confirmed that it has been keen to launch a national event dedicated to the caftan, which provided an annual platform that contributed to highlighting the great dynamism of traditional craftsmen and designers, and revealing the depth of this rooted tradition and its continuous ability to innovate and renew without compromising its original spirit. The magazine affirms its continued celebration of this living heritage and support for its development paths, which contributes to enhancing the radiance of the Moroccan caftan within Morocco and on the international scene, as one of the most prominent living expressions of Moroccan culture and its renewed heritage.
