The Public Prosecution at the Court of Appeal in Safi announced that it has begun a formal investigation into the flood torrents that swept through the Safi region on the evening of Sunday, December 14, 2025, resulting in the death of about 37 people, according to a preliminary count.
The Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Safi clarified that the investigation is being conducted by the judicial police, to ascertain the real causes of the tragic incident and uncover its circumstances and details, within the framework of the legal procedures adopted to ensure the determination of responsibilities and the protection of public security. This step comes in the context of the judiciary's follow-up to the repercussions of the floods, which have caused significant human and material losses in various neighborhoods of the city, amidst ongoing rescue and relief efforts by various public agencies.
