As part of the proactive measures taken by the province of Midelt to address the expected weather fluctuations, the Secretary-General of the province, this Monday morning, paid a field visit to the commune of Tounfite, to assess the readiness of the local vigilance committee, coinciding with the issuance of an orange alert.
This visit aims to evaluate the level of preparedness and coordination between the various stakeholders, where the mobilization and utilization of all necessary logistical and human resources were confirmed, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency interventions when necessary, and the proper management of any potential situation that may be imposed by exceptional climatic conditions.
The visit also included the local health center, the maternity ward, and the maternity home in Tounfite, which currently houses a number of pregnant women who are about to give birth in the coming hours or days. The Secretary-General closely reviewed the conditions of residence and the quality of services provided to the residents, and the extent to which the maternity home adheres to reception standards, especially regarding proper nutrition, adequate housing, heating, and health care, as well as psychological and social support for mothers and infants.
This visit was an opportunity to reassure the residents about their health situation, as they were contacted directly, and assurances were given to them and their families regarding the provision of all safety and care conditions, within the framework of the special care that the regional authorities pay to protect the health of mothers and their children, and to ensure their safety during this period which is witnessing potential climate disturbances.
This step falls within a comprehensive proactive approach adopted by the province of Midelt, which aims to enhance field vigilance, ensure maximum readiness for various departments, protect lives and property, and establish a culture of rapid and responsible intervention in the face of natural hazards.
