HIBAPRESS – Rabat

In a new step reflecting its regional ambition, the Akdital group announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to acquire 100% of the capital of the Taoufik Hospitals Group (THG), in a deal valued at approximately 90 million US dollars, within the framework of its strategy to strengthen its international presence. The completion of this operation remains subject to obtaining the applicable regulatory licenses.

The Taoufik Hospitals Group was established in 2014 and currently operates four private hospitals in Tunisia with a capacity exceeding 600 beds, including 100 beds dedicated to intensive care. The group relies on human resources that include more than 1,600 employees and a network of more than 500 partner doctors. Its facilities are distinguished by providing specialized medical services, especially in oncology, neurology, functional rehabilitation, traumatology and cardiac interventions, in addition to a multidisciplinary health offer, attracting local and international patients, especially from neighboring countries and sub-Saharan Africa.

Financially, THG achieved consolidated revenues exceeding $45 million in 2024, with an EBITDA margin of 35%, and a net margin of 13%. Forecasts for 2025 indicate growth of nearly 15%, driven mainly by the development of oncology activity. The Tunisian group's model is based on high standards of care quality and treatment safety, supported by international and local accreditations, including HAS and INEAS.

This anticipated acquisition falls within the framework of the logic of integration between the two groups, both in terms of medical expertise and organizational models, with the aim of establishing a platform for exchanging skills and operational knowledge, encouraging the mobility and development of competencies, as well as strengthening medical cooperation. This operation also represents the first investment by the Akdital group in North Africa outside Morocco, after its first investments in the Middle East in Riyadh and Mecca.

Through this step, Akdital reaffirms its ambition to build a regional growth platform based on medical excellence and the development of competencies. The group is today the leader in the private health sector in Morocco, where it operates a vast network that includes more than 4,111 beds distributed across 41 health institutions, in a continuous commitment to providing high-quality medicine available to all.
