The population of the tribe of Oulad Jamea in the community of Laajajra, belonging to the Moulay Yacoub province, suffers from difficult social and developmental conditions, in the absence of the most basic conditions for a decent life, foremost among which are electricity and roads, which has left a number of villages living in suffocating isolation for many years.
In a contact with the HIBAPRESS newspaper, a number of citizens expressed their daily suffering with the absence of electricity, considering that this deprivation negatively affects the education of children, the living conditions of families, and the suffering of the sick and the elderly, at a time when electrical energy has become a basic right of the citizen.
Also, the poor condition of the road network and the lack of paved roads constitute one of the most prominent manifestations of marginalization, as residents find it very difficult to move around, especially during the winter, whether to reach health centers or educational institutions or to carry out their livelihood purposes, which perpetuates isolation and hinders any prospect for local development.
The population places great hopes on the governor of the province and the secretary general in order to move the pending files, foremost of which is connecting the villages to electricity and breaking the road isolation, considering that the intervention of the regional authorities is sufficient to do justice to the region, in light of the seriousness and openness observed in dealing with citizens' issues.
In contrast, questions return again about the role of local elected officials, who are supposed to seriously advocate for the demands of the population, and to bring the projects from the shelves of promises to the ground, especially since the electoral slogans repeatedly emphasized development and breaking isolation.
In the face of official talk about spatial justice and reducing social disparities, the Laajajra community remains in dire need of urgent intervention that restores its consideration, and translates the high directives into tangible projects that end years of exclusion and marginalization. The population of the Laajajra community only demands its legitimate right to electricity, roads, and development, and eagerly awaits practical initiatives that restore hope and consecrate the dignity of the rural citizen.
