Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has renewed his confirmation of his desire to continue his football career, until he achieves his historical goal of reaching the 1,000-goal mark in his professional career.
The captain of the Portuguese national team raised his goal tally to 956 goals, after scoring a double with the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr last Saturday. During the "Globe Soccer" awards ceremony held yesterday, Sunday, in Dubai, he confirmed that reaching this number remains his main goal, expressing his confidence in achieving it if he avoids injuries. Despite reaching the age of 40, and being crowned the best player in the Middle East, Ronaldo has previously indicated that the 2026 World Cup finals, scheduled in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, may be his last international appearance, but his career at the club level is likely to continue after extending his contract with Al-Nassr until 2027. Ronaldo confirmed that passion and motivation are the main driving force for him to continue playing, highlighting that he enjoys football wherever he plays it, whether in Europe or the Middle East. Ronaldo, who has won the Best Player in the World award 5 times, continues to consolidate his record numbers, as he tops the list of all-time top scorers for national teams with 143 goals with Portugal, and holds the record for most goals scored in the Champions League with 140 goals, and is also the all-time top scorer for Real Madrid with 450 goals, in addition to exceeding the threshold of 100 goals with Manchester United, Juventus and Al-Nassr club.
