The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in Tiznit announced the temporary suspension of studies today, Monday, in all public and private educational institutions across the region, due to the heavy rainfall that the area witnessed.
According to a statement from the Regional Directorate, this decision comes in light of the heavy rains that Tiznit province experienced yesterday and this morning, which led to the flow of valleys and ravines in the region with large volumes that may pose a danger to road users and paths in this region, including the movements of students, administrative and educational staff. The statement explained that this measure was taken based on the recommendations of the Regional Alert Committee and in coordination with the competent authorities, indicating that studies will resume normally starting tomorrow, Tuesday, January 20th, at the usual time. The Regional Directorate urged directors, parents' associations, and school transport associations to maintain continuous communication with the Regional Directorate and local authorities throughout the duration of these weather fluctuations to ensure the safety of the educational institutions' beneficiaries.
