HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ould Ali
The Ajdir commune, which is part of the Al Hoceima province, witnessed an incident that mobilized the security and local authorities, after receiving a notification from a citizen stating that a person suffering from mental disorders, holding Spanish citizenship, had vandalized utility vehicles in the area.
Immediately after receiving the report, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie and local authorities moved to the scene of the incident, where the person in question was arrested and placed inside an ambulance to be transported to the mental hospital in Al Hoceima. Accompanying the transport process was a member of the Royal Gendarmerie, a member of the auxiliary forces, along with a local authority agent, as part of the precautionary measures in place. During the passage through the judicial dam at the entrance to the city of Al Hoceima, the arrested person assaulted a gendarmerie member inside the ambulance, causing him to lose consciousness, before attempting to escape by opening the car door. However, the intervention of the national security elements stationed at the dam enabled them to encircle him and re-arrest him in a short time, and control the situation without recording additional damage. The injured gendarmerie member was transported to the regional hospital in Al Hoceima to receive the necessary treatment, while the person in question was returned to medical custody, pending the taking of the necessary legal and administrative measures as required by law.
