HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The authorities of the city of Mohammedia began, in the early hours of this morning, to implement a large-scale demolition operation affecting Douar Al-Baradea, which is considered the largest slum at the provincial level, within the framework of a program aimed at combating inadequate housing and restructuring the urban area.
The operation took place under the supervision of the local authorities and in the presence of security personnel and auxiliary forces, where the area was cordoned off to ensure that the operation proceeded in organized and secure conditions. This intervention comes within an approach that aims to eliminate slum dwellings and improve the living conditions of the population, after Douar Al-Baradea remained for many years a black spot reflecting social and living fragility, in the absence of the simplest conditions of adequate housing.
