Public and professional stakeholders concerned with employment in the agricultural sector signed, on Friday in Rabat, a framework agreement dedicated to promoting employment and employability in this sector, with a special focus on seasonal employment.
The framework agreement was signed by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Ahmed Elbouari, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, the Director General of the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills, Abdellah Chawki, and the President of the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Rural Development (Comader), Rachid Benali. This framework agreement aims to bring about a structural change in the management of seasonal agricultural employment, by moving from an emergency treatment logic to a proactive, organized and consultative approach. It also aims specifically to strengthen the planning of labor needs, structure recruitment processes, and improve the link between agricultural employers and job seekers, within a framework that is structured and transparent.
This initiative gives special importance to promoting structured and decent employment, securing seasonal career paths, and improving the conditions of access to work in rural areas.
This agreement, through its territorial and social dimensions, contributes to enhancing the attractiveness of agricultural professions, supporting the economic development of rural areas, and consolidating employment stability in a strategic sector for the national economy. The implementation of this agreement will be monitored within a joint framework between the signatory parties, in order to ensure the achievement of the set goals and enhance its impact in serving employment, agriculture and spatial development.
