The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to punish the Senegalese national team coach, Pape Thiaw, with a 5-match suspension and a fine of $100,000 due to his behavior in the Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco.
The decision comes after the Senegalese national team coach caused great chaos during the Africa Cup of Nations final at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium when he asked his players to leave the field in protest against the penalty awarded to the Moroccan national team. The Senegalese coach's incitement of his players to withdraw caused serious riots in the stands, and the match stopped for more than 10 minutes when the Senegalese players withdrew before CAF settled for a light penalty against the instigator of the chaos in the CAN final.
