HIBAPRESS – I. As-Sammali
The Moroccan art scene lost, today, Saturday, one of its prominent pillars, with the death of the veteran actress Safia Ziani, at the age of 91, at the Moulay Youssef Hospital Center in Rabat, after a long battle with illness.
This departure comes to redouble the sadness of the artistic and cultural family in Morocco, which had barely absorbed the news of the death of the icon of the Moroccan song, the artist Abdelhadi Belkhayat, on Friday evening, until it was shocked today by the departure of a weighty artistic figure in the field of acting. Safia Ziani is considered one of the names that have left their mark on the Moroccan artistic memory, through her many participations in theatrical and television works, where she was distinguished by her strong presence and honest performance, which made her enjoy the respect of the audience and the appreciation of her colleagues throughout a long artistic career. With the departure of Safia Ziani, Moroccan art loses one of its icons that contributed to consolidating the foundations of Moroccan acting, and left an artistic legacy that will remain a witness to her giving and her devotion to art.
