HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Elbaz
Despite the tourist destination that Ain Asserdoun in the city of Beni Mellal is marketed as, visitors are surprised by the presence of electrical poles with bare and exposed wires inside the tourist circuit, in a scene that reflects a serious disregard for the safety of citizens and raises more than one question mark about the role of the responsible authorities.
This situation cannot be considered a transient malfunction or a simple technical error, but rather constitutes a direct threat to life, especially in a public space frequented by children and families on a daily basis. The absolute silence of the National Office of Electricity and the territorial community regarding this danger reinforces the logic of indifference and reveals a weakness in monitoring and maintenance. Continuing this neglect tarnishes the image of the city and undermines any talk of real tourism development. What is required today is not justifications, but an immediate intervention to remove the danger, with the opening of an accountability door for everyone who has failed in performing his duty, before these poles turn into a cause of a tragedy that could have been avoided.
