HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Elbaz
The body of a 25-year-old Moroccan young man was found in the Italian city of Milan, inside an abandoned building near the central station. Initial data indicates that the death was caused by the severe cold that the region has been experiencing in recent days.
According to local sources, the victim was in a vulnerable situation and it is likely that he was homeless, which brought back to the forefront the suffering of a number of immigrants, especially young people, who live in harsh humanitarian conditions within the largest European cities. This painful incident raises more than one question mark, including: Where are the Islamic associations? And where are the activities of civil society? And where are the support and solidarity networks that are supposed to protect lives, especially during the deadly cold periods? The death of a young man in the prime of his life due to neglect and silence is not just a fleeting news, but an alarm bell that calls for urgent action and collective responsibility before the tragedy repeats.
