HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
In an initiative that reflects the spirit of solidarity and social cohesion, activists from civil society in the city of Al Hoceima launched a humanitarian campaign under the name "Let's Give Them a Warm Winter," in light of the severe cold wave experienced by the Al Hoceima region, and the accompanying snowfall and floods that left real suffering for a number of vulnerable and affected families.
The campaign raises the slogan "Be the first to do good, and make others follow your example," in a clear call to the various segments of society to engage in this noble humanitarian work, which aims to alleviate the effects of harsh climatic conditions on the most vulnerable groups, especially children and needy families. The initiative focuses on collecting and distributing essential aid, including clothing, winter blankets, food, in addition to toys, in order to bring warmth and joy to the hearts of the affected, and help them overcome this difficult stage. In this context, the organizing committee of the campaign confirmed that it had allocated four apartments in the city of Al Hoceima to receive the affected families coming from the city of Ksar El Kebir, where two apartments were allocated for two families, while the other two apartments were directed to widows accompanied by their children, as part of the preparation to accommodate these cases and follow them up socially and humanely. The committee explained that these residences are still available until the present time, pending the arrival of the concerned families if they wish to benefit from this support, stressing its full readiness to receive and accompany them until the repercussions of this crisis are overcome. The committee also sent an open appeal to the general public and benefactors inside and outside Morocco to contribute to the success of this campaign, because of its positive impact in consolidating the values of mercy, cooperation and solidarity within society. A place near the Al-Munazah neighborhood mosque in the city of Al Hoceima has been allocated as a center for collecting donations, while the committee has provided contact numbers for those wishing to participate for communication and coordination. This initiative remains a living example of the values of social solidarity, and a message of hope that confirms that collective action and humanitarian solidarity are capable of alleviating the suffering of the affected in times of hardship, in accordance with the saying of the Almighty: "And Allah does not waste the reward of those who do good."
