The General Directorate of Meteorology stated that it is expected to record heavy rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms with the possibility of hail, in addition to locally strong winds, in a number of regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate explained, in an alert bulletin of orange alert level, that rainfall is expected to range from 30 to 40 mm in Safrou, Ouezzane, Tetouan, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khenifra, Al Hoceima, Taounate, Taza, Chefchaouen, and Larache, from Friday, February 6th at 12:00 to Saturday, February 7th at 06:00. The bulletin added that rainfall is expected to range from 40 to 70 mm in Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Kenitra, Ouezzane, Tetouan and Larache, and from 30 to 40 mm in Tangier-Assilah, M'diq-Fnideq, Sidi Slimane, Ben Slimane, Berrechid, Casablanca, Mediouna, Khémisset, Taza, Khenifra, Sidi Kacem, Salé, Moulay Yacoub, Fahs-Anjra, Mohammedia, Nouaceur, Rabat, Temara-Skhirat, El Jadida, Beni Mellal, Meknes, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Fez, Safrou and Taounate, from Saturday, February 7th at 12:00 to Sunday, February 8th at 06:00. The Directorate also pointed out that locally strong winds of orange alert level are expected, with speeds ranging from 75 to 85 km/h in Boulemane, Safrou, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, Taza, Guercif, Tangier-Assilah, Ifrane, Oujda Angad, Taourirt, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Midelt, Berkane, Tetouan, Driouch, Figuig, Jerada, M'diq-Fnideq, Nador, Tata, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, and Tiznit, and Larache, on Friday, February 6th from 12:00 to 20:00. The bulletin added that strong wind gusts will also affect Oujda Angad, Fahs-Anjra, Midelt, Boulemane, Tangier-Assilah, Larache, Kenitra, Berkane, Driouch, Nador, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Tetouan, M'diq-Fnideq, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Taourirt, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Safrou, Figuig, Jerada, Guercif, Taza, on Saturday, February 7th from 06:00 to 23:00. Strong winds will also affect Ben Slimane, Berrechid, Rabat, Salé, Temara-Skhirat, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, El Jadida and Nouaceur, on Saturday, February 7th from 15:00 to 23:00.
