A number of residents of the Izkaaghen district in the city of Midelt have expressed their strong dissatisfaction with the situation that has befallen the Jabal Saghro street, due to paving work described as not meeting technical standards, in addition to the continued presence of an electricity pole in the middle of the road, in a scene that raises more than one question mark about safety and the quality of management.
According to consistent statements, Jabal Saghro street, along with a number of other alleys in the city, underwent paving work during the past few months, but this work quickly began to show signs of deterioration, as the asphalt layer cracked and eroded noticeably, which made the residents question the extent of compliance with the specifications and the quality of the materials used, as well as the role of the bodies in charge of follow-up and monitoring.
Fears are increasing in this alley due to the presence of an electricity pole in the middle of the road, in a situation that poses a real danger to road users, especially car and motorcycle owners, not to mention pedestrians, which threatens physical safety and makes daily movement fraught with risks.
The residents are questioning the reasons that prevented the removal or relocation of this pole, despite its clear and dangerous situation, and they are also raising legitimate questions about whether this problem was detected by the competent authorities during the completion of the work, and why it was not addressed in a timely manner.
In the face of this situation, the affected people demand that the local authorities and the relevant services, whether the territorial group or the regional multi-service company, intervene urgently to fix the recorded imbalances, and repave the street according to standards that respect the quality of work and ensure the safety of citizens, while addressing the situation of the electricity pole, which has become a real source of concern for the residents.
The pressing question remains: How long will the citizen continue to pay the price for works that lack quality, about such imbalances that directly affect the safety and dignity of the residents?
