The House of Representatives held a general session this Thursday morning dedicated to the general discussion of the first part of the draft finance law No. 50.25 for the fiscal year 2026, where the interventions of the parliamentary groups continued to discuss the contents of the project and express their positions on the government's economic and social orientations.
In this context, Mohamed Chouki, head of the National Rally of Independents group in the House of Representatives, said that the opposition criticizes everything and proposes nothing, stressing that most of the amendments submitted to the finance bill came from the government majority groups, while the opposition groups and groups limited themselves to criticism for the sake of criticism only. Chouki added that the amendments submitted by the majority were purposeful, logical, and reasonable, and came to enhance the social and economic dimension of the project within a framework of responsibility and realism. Chouki stressed that the government majority deals seriously with the parliamentary debate and is keen to present practical and implementable proposals, far from narrow political calculations. Chouki considered that this parliamentary behavior reflects the commitment of the majority components to serve the public interest and achieve development, calling on the opposition to raise the level of discussion and propose real alternatives that contribute to improving the performance of legislative work and supporting ongoing reforms.
