The African Union has dealt a major blow to the Polisario and its backer, Algeria, by excluding the separatist group from its major international meetings and summits.
The decision was taken at the last meeting of the African Union and stipulates that entities not recognised by the UN will be excluded from important international forums bringing together heads of state and government.
With this decision, the Polisario will no longer be able to participate in summits that bring together world leaders with the African continent. This measure constitutes a severe blow to the ghost group and Algeria, while affirming and strengthening the role and position of Morocco within the African house.
