A statement from the Head of Government announced that the Head of Government issued a decision declaring the weather disturbances witnessed in a number of areas as a disaster, and classifying the communities of the four provinces (Larache, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem and Sidi Slimane), which were most affected, as disaster areas.
This decision comes in implementation of the royal instructions to the government to develop a large-scale program of assistance and support for the benefit of affected families and residents, and to take the necessary organizational measures in such circumstances. According to the same source, the government has put in place a program of assistance and support, with a forecast budget of three billion dirhams, which was prepared based on a thorough and in-depth assessment of the field situation, as well as on a careful study of the economic and social repercussions of these weather disturbances.
