The director in charge of managing the Sidi Kacem Education Directorate, Aziz Belhassan, confirmed that studies will resume in all institutions in the region starting Monday, February 16.
Belhassan reviewed, in a statement to the Moroccan News Agency, a package of measures taken by the directorate to ensure pedagogical continuity and secure school time, foremost among which is the reception of students arriving from other areas and shelter centers, where they were transferred in coordination with the competent authorities to institutions close to their places of shelter. He pointed out in this regard the transfer of more than 90 students from the "Lasamer Space" shelter center to both the "Colonel Allam" primary school and the "Ibn Rushd" preparatory secondary school to continue their studies. Belhassan added that these measures included the adoption of distance learning via the "TelmidTice" digital platform, and the provision of educational, psychological and social support to affected students, while committing to make up for study sessions immediately upon returning to the original classrooms. After pointing out that the situation of educational institutions in the region has witnessed a noticeable improvement after the recent wave of weather fluctuations, he confirmed the directorate's involvement in rehabilitating educational institutions that were damaged by the floods, praising the efforts of all the interveners, headed by the regional and local authorities, for their management of this critical stage.
