The work of the thirty-ninth summit of heads of state and government of the African Union began this morning, Saturday, in Addis Ababa, with the participation of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, who represents His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The summit will be held on February 14th and 15th under the slogan "Ensuring the availability of water and sustainable safe sanitation systems to achieve the goals of Agenda 2063". This summit will highlight the urgency of the challenges related to access to water, the sustainable management of water resources, and its direct repercussions on food security, public health, and development. This summit was preceded by the work of the forty-eighth ordinary session of the Executive Council of the African Union, which was distinguished, in particular, by the election of Morocco as a member of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union for a two-year term.
