HIBAPRESS – MAP
The Consulate General of the Kingdom in Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg organized a communication and coordination meeting yesterday with the officials of active associations in managing mosques within its jurisdiction, as part of strengthening institutional communication with members of the Moroccan community and monitoring community work in the religious field.
This meeting was an opportunity to discuss ways to develop coordination between the consular services and the associations supervising the management of religious affairs, to ensure the smooth running of work within mosques and to enhance the presence of religious guidance for the benefit of members of the Moroccan community residing in Belgium and Luxembourg.
In a speech on the occasion, the Consul General, Najah Demo, praised the vital role played by the associations in serving the members of the community, by providing religious guidance, maintaining places of worship, and consolidating the values of moderation and coexistence, stressing that this work falls within the framework of the ongoing care for religious affairs under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
She highlighted that the efforts made are based on the constants of the Moroccan religious model based on the Emirate of Believers, the Maliki school of thought, the Ash'ari creed, and Sunni Sufism, as established references that guarantee centrism, moderation, and the preservation of the religious and national identity of the community.
The participants affirmed during this meeting that the work of the associations contributes to preserving the Moroccan identity and transmitting it to the rising generations, supporting positive integration within Belgian society, and at the same time preserving the spiritual and cultural ties with the Kingdom of Morocco.
On this occasion, the voluntary efforts made by the officials of these associations were commended, and a call was made to continue working in a spirit of responsibility and cooperation for the benefit of the Moroccan community and the service of the public good.
This meeting was also dedicated to coordinating arrangements for receiving imams and guides to support members of the Moroccan community abroad throughout the holy month of Ramadan, enhancing the quality of religious guidance within mosques and meeting the expectations of members of this segment of Moroccan society during this blessed month.
The Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad announced that it would send, starting from February 16, a delegation of 320 members, including university professors, guides, imams, and preachers, to support members of the Moroccan community abroad during the holy month of Ramadan.
A group of 42 members will arrive in Belgium, specifically, to provide religious support to the community members during the holy month, based on the religious constants of the Kingdom.
This process has great religious, social, and symbolic importance, with the aim of contributing to spreading the message of peace, solidarity, and social cohesion, in accordance with the principles of coexistence and the Islamic religion.
