The sea waves cast ashore, this morning, Sunday, February 16, 2026, the body of an unidentified person at Sabadia beach in Al Hoceima, where it was in an advanced state of decomposition, which mobilized various local and security authorities.
According to data from local sources, the competent authorities were notified immediately upon discovering the body, where civil defense elements, the local authority, and national security services moved to the scene and began the procedures in place in such cases. The body has been transferred to the morgue at the Mohammed VI Regional Hospital in Al Hoceima, in order to subject it to the necessary medical and legal examinations, pending the identification of the deceased and the disclosure of the circumstances and causes of death. This incident falls within similar incidents witnessed by the region's coasts in recent years, some of which are likely to be related to illegal immigration attempts by sea.
